From a real report

One page tells you whether to buy.

This is the actual scorecard from a 2014 Chrysler 300 C we inspected for a buyer. The car looked great in the listing. The inspection found a bald inner tire, ABS codes, missing catalytic converters, and an engine swap the seller hadn’t mentioned — and still said buy, because at the right price it was a good car.

Every finding is negotiating power on the price of the car.

“This was exactly what I needed! I didn't want to take my car to a shop, because it wasn't running and I knew shops would be booked out for weeks. I texted Chris my issues and he immediately had an inkling of what was going on. He still performed a thorough diagnostic and kept me updated throughout the entire process. Was able to get me back up and running same day!”

“Chris was on time and got my car running the same day!!! I saved a ton of money using Chris!!! The work he provided would have cost double had I went to the dealership!!!”
Kacy S. · Google review
“Chris is a super friendly and knowledgeable mechanic, and the prices are great! I'd definitely recommend him because he's very trustworthy and gets things done quickly. I had a steering knuckle with a wheel bearing assembly fixed, and he finished it in just an hour.”
Michael M. · Google review
“It's hard to find an honest mechanic to work on foreign cars that's not at the dealership… He was professional and personable. O'Reilys had sold me the wrong part, Kirby took the part back with no hesitation. My car is back riding smoothly and I have a reliable and knowledgeable mechanic. Thanks OTRAM!”

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay upfront?
Yes. Every booking is paid at secure Stripe checkout when you pick your time, and that's what locks in your window. Repairs are quoted in writing after the diagnostic, and you pay the approved quote up front before the work starts.
What if I need to move my appointment?
Reschedule once at no cost, whenever you need to — reply to your confirmation text or give us a call. If you cancel instead, the visit fee is kept.
Why does same-day cost more?
We keep one slot open every day for urgent work, which means turning down planned bookings for it. The $75 priority fee pays for that slot. Book more than 24 hours ahead and you never pay it.
Is there any benefit to booking early?
Yes. Two weeks or more ahead and you pick your arrival time, in a 2-hour window instead of the usual 3.
What's the difference between a scan and a diagnostic?
A $89 Full System Scan reads every module the scanner can reach and tells you what the car is reporting. The $99.99 diagnostic finds out why — testing, not just codes — and comes with a repair plan and price. If something is actually broken, you want the diagnostic.
Do you come to me?
Yes. OTRAM is a mobile mechanic — a licensed technician comes to your location across North County St. Louis to diagnose and service your vehicle.
What areas do you serve?
It depends on the service. Mobile mechanic (in-person repair) covers North County St. Louis — Florissant, Ferguson, Jennings, Hazelwood, Berkeley, Dellwood, and nearby. Pre-purchase inspections cover the greater St. Louis metro. Consultant Advisor sessions are remote and available nationwide.
How much does a diagnostic cost?
The Mobile Diagnostic Service Call is $99.99. If you approve the repair, 50% of the diagnostic fee credits toward labor.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — qualifying replacement parts carry a lifetime warranty, and every inspection and diagnostic comes with a written report.
How do I book?
Book online in a couple of minutes: pick your service and your arrival window, then pay securely at Stripe checkout. Payment is what locks in your time. Consultant Advisor sessions are paid the same way, and Chris texts you to set the call time.
When will you arrive?
Because we come to you, arrivals fall within a 3-hour window — that's the nature of mobile service and traveling between jobs. We'll keep you updated on timing as your appointment approaches.
Can I book outside your business hours?
Yes. Online booking is open around the clock — nights, weekends, whenever. Appointments arrive in a morning, midday, or afternoon window Monday through Friday, plus inspection-only mornings on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, and we take a limited number of jobs each day.
Why pay for a diagnostic instead of a free quote?
A free quote over the phone is a guess. The $99.99 mobile diagnostic is a licensed technician at your vehicle, on the clock, finding the actual cause — and if you approve the repair, half of that fee comes straight off your labor bill.
The seller says the car was already inspected. Do I still need one?
An inspection arranged by the person selling the car works for the seller. We're hired by you, we have nothing to gain from the sale going through, and you get the written report with photos — not them.
Can I get advice without an in-person visit?
Yes. Consultant Advisor sessions are delivered by video, phone, or text and start at $35 — including a second opinion on a repair quote or invoice.
